Today was a day full of good news and bad news, blessings and curses. It reminds me of a movie I just watched where there was a Latin saying that basically means out of bad things can come good. Let's hope so.
There are changes I want to make in my life. I don't think I've been applying myself. In many ways I'd given up. I got tired of bashing my head against the wall. So I either need a harder head or to remove the walls.
The relationship I'm in isn't working for either of us. I either need to change it or leave it. I want to keep traveling so I need to figure out how to finance that. I need to continue my education somehow. I need to improve my fitness, which is on a terrible downward spiral. I can't continue on like this; being in pain every day. Not every moment; just when I stand up, sit down, or move.
I have five Etsy shops, all of which are empty except for 2 items I just renewed. I have a lot of things pointed to those shops, like Youtube videos. It's discouraging when nothing sells, but it's stupid to have empty shops which pretty much guarantees nothing will sell. I just bought more tools and parts so I can finish new jewelry to put in my Hypnotic Etsy shop. I somehow lost my jewelry pliers when I got on the train, so I had to buy new ones. Maybe they slid under my train seat or something when I was pulling things out of my project bag. At any rate I got a kit for $12.00. Just the pliers alone were from $8 to $10, so it made more sense to get the kit, which comes with a plastic carrying box, pliers that work also as crimpers and wire cutters, a magnifying glass, tweezers and some other tools. My daughter gave me her 40% off coupon to use.
Great start but when I got home and helped take care of my 2 grandkids, the day got away from me and was over before I knew it. One is 2 years old and the other is 5 months old, so they need constant supervision. My daughter is exhausted at the end of each day. So anything I can do to help her is worth it. There was a family emergency going on, so her husband was busy sorting through that and making the necessary phone calls. In a way I'm glad his father passed on so he will never have to deal with what happened.

Busy Day Chasing Two Grandkids
I know I must be tired when I fall asleep waiting for the webpage to load. I never thought I'd say this but I miss the time of my life when I had two kids in diapers and my world revolved around them. I miss the cozy family dinners and the trips to the market or the Dr. office. I miss bunk beds and bedtime stories.

Siblings
I'm getting along famously with my grandkids. Met my granddaughter for the first time yesterday. She's a calm baby that seems content to swing or be held. She's only cranky when she's hungry and that's not my job! My grandson seems adjusted to having a baby sister already even though she's only a month and a half old. He helps with her blankets and snuggles up with her on the couch. She does seem to get the hiccups a lot. I'm only staying a week so I'm trying to soak up as much of the experience as I can. I really wish I'd never left SLO County. It's so verdant here under the oak trees.

Family Mystery
Having trouble with Broad Band again. It hasn't worked since about 11 AM. I finally gave in and called Virgin at 10 PM only to get a recording saying tech support closed at 9 PM. Ugh. So now I'm on dial-up.
I've been thinking about my older sister. One day she went missing and I didn't even know she used the Internet before that. Not only did he use it, she was some sort of guru who specialized in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and had a very popular highly ranked blog. She was also an expert on horse pedigrees and breeding and owned a website called EquineInfo.com. She went by the screen name Flying Rose. It was too late that I learned this because she vanished from her TX ranch and from the Internet entirely for about 4 years. Then out of the blue she called our aunt. We didn't even know if she was dead or alive. I personally don't have any details about what happened or why she vanished. Just another strange chapter in my family history.

The Red Wagon
This is the eve of my 55th birthday. I'm sitting in a tiny house in the CA desert, in a place I never thought I'd be. So far I haven't gotten used to it. I have a fire going in our wood burning stove. I would describe this as a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live here. Unfortunately I do live here and I'm trying to make the best of it.
My friend sent me a birthday card with a victorian woman on the front. It says Do something wild on your birthday...and don't forget who gave you the idea.
My grandson is 2 and wants to do everything himself. Here he is pulling a wagon in my yard. I wish it had snowed. It snowed about a week before Christmas. We had a bonfire in the backyard for New Year's Eve. My son-in-law took over chopping dead branches and cactus for the fire. My boyfriend made tamales and pumpkin pie. I spent my time seeing as much as I could of my pregnant daughter and my grandson.
I was sorry to see them go.
